So, a few weeks a go I went out on my e-bike to pop into Argos for a couple of things that I had ordered. Argos is less than 5 minutes, on a bicycle, round the corner from me and it involves negotiating 2 roundabouts and a set of traffic lights, on a t-junction.
All went ok on the journey to the retailer, thanks in part to a Police vehicle that followed us for part of the way which stopped motorists overtaking and driving too close (thanks you Mr/Mrs Police Officers).
On the way back I was riding towards the t-junction traffic lights when the following happened -
If you are unaware, in the UK you can only drive through Traffic Lights when the lights are on Green - if the lights are Red or Amber you must stop at the white line.
As you can see on the above video a Red Mini speeds passed me when the lights were already changing to Amber and proceeded to cross the white line as the lights changed to Red - this is illegal. It doesn't matter if it's a bicycle, moped, car, van etc - it is illegal and very dangerous.
Hopefully the person will realise the error of their ways and be more careful in future but people riding or driving through Red Lights, in Barrow, is happening more and more these days - there is no excuse for it!
